Job Title: Financial Controller
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Regional Finance
Director (RFD), your role will be to maximize the company’s return on financial assets by implementing/establishing financial policies, procedures,controls and reporting systems.
Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows for the company.
Overseeing the Payroll process.
Timely preparation and rendering of returns on all tax obligations e.g. VAT, WHT, PAYE etc.
Advising on financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Contributing to effective Treasury Management by maximizingreturns and limit risk on cash by minimizing bank balances.
Achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Timely production of accurate statutory and monthly financial reports; provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Advising on financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Monitoring and confirming financial position in preparation for and providing information to external auditors.
Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports andadvising management on needed actions.
Managing finance team members for results by developing, coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, organizing, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Maintaining currency in professional & technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing professional/personal networks and participating in professional bodies.
Adhering strictly to the confidential clause.
Contributing to top management team effort by timely accomplishment of agreed deliverables as needed.
Carrying out other assignments as delegated by the COO & RFD.
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA) with a keen commercial sense.
Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in both accounting and management.
Substantial work experience in management, ideally within a FMCG organization with a high volume/velocity of financial transactions that require correct, complete & timely reports.
Proficient in the knowledge and deployment of ICT and accounting systems (e.g. Sage Line 50 and Pastel/ Evolution, and other ERP accounting software).
Ability to implement policy and manage/motivate change in a diverse cultural environment.
Accountability for results delivery both for internal and external customers.
Exceptional leadership & communication skills.
